It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rodney Geddes, who died in London on Monday, March 10, in his 73rd year.
Rod was the beloved husband of Barbara Geddes, a devoted father to Natalie (Mike Currie) and Ben (Kelsey), and a proud grandfather to Lena Currie and Monty.
Rod attended Oakridge Secondary School before going on to graduate from Western University in 1979. A lifelong learner, he continued to take courses sporadically throughout the years. He supported his family working at the St. Thomas Assembly Plant, where his work ethic and reliability were evident—over the years, he took no more than two or three sick days. During his retirement driving a school bus truly made him happy, where he found joy in the road and his young passengers.
Rod had a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. He loved nothing more than BBQing, diving into the backyard pool, and keeping his yard green and tidy. He will be remembered for his rare gift of listening, his deep appreciation for music played at full volume, and the kindness he extended to all who knew him.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
