Surrounded by loved ones, Rocco Cifaldi passed away peacefully in his 83rd year on Monday, May 12, 2025.
Born on August 6, 1942, in Orsara di Puglia, Italy, Rocco was the beloved son of the late Domenico and Nicolina Cifaldi.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 41 years, Maria Cifaldi (Pironaggi), with whom he shared a lifetime of love, family, and cherished memories.
He is lovingly remembered by his devoted partner, Milena Gallinaro, along with her family, with whom they shared many joyful years filled with laughter, closeness, and unwavering affection.
Rocco will be forever cherished by his daughters Lina (Nicola) D’Oria, Jane (Simon) Farrugia, and Nancy (Dominic) Mazza. He was a proud and loving Nonno to his granddchildren Giovanni, Rocco, Sarah, Selena, Matteo and Maria, and Bisnonno to Nicola Benjamin and Mina Maria.
He was predeceased by his in-laws Giuseppe and Maria Pironaggi and his sisters Leonarda (Fedele) Curcio and Antonietta (Michele) Mescia.
Rocco is also survived by his sister Mary (John) DeOliveira , along with many nieces and nephews and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
Rocco was known for his infectious laughter, zest for life and generous spirit. Rocco’s passion of soccer, travelling, golfing, playing cards and singing, filled his days with joy and brought smiles to those around him. Rocco was the embodiment of a life lived with purpose and known for his warm heart, quick wit and the way he could make anyone feel at home. Rocco brought joy and laughter wherever he went.
As the proud owner of Stacey’s Heating & Plumbing (1976), he dedicated his career to hard work, integrity, and serving others. His proud accomplishments include: playing for the Canadian National Soccer Team, coaching NSL at the Marconi Club, and being one of the founding general partners of Westhaven Golf and Country Club (1990). His most enduring legacy lives in the wisdom he shared, the boundless love he offered, and the treasured memories that will forever remain in our hearts.
Dad once said, “If I could relive my life over again, there is nothing I would change. I would do everything exactly the same. I wanted to leave my mark on this world, and that’s what I did.”
He truly had no regrets and lived every moment to the fullest. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family wishes to thank all the doctors and nurses at Victoria Hospital/University Hospital who whole-heartedly assisted with his care.
Family and friends will be received at Westview Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Sunday, May 18, 2025 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. and Monday, May 19, 2025 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. (Rosary 2:30 p.m.) and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Parish, 345 Lyle Street, London on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., with Father Pio D’Oria as celebrant. Entombment at St. Peter’s Cemetery and Holy Family Chapel Mausoleum, London.
