Bob’s Obituary
Surette, Robert (Bob) Ralph – 81 of Pinkney’s Point Yarmouth Co., quietly passed away on December 18, 2024 at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born February 12, 1943 he was the son of the late Ralph and Regina (Saulnier) Surette.
Bob was very passionate when it came to supporting organizations that helped to serve the (his) community. Bob celebrated more than 55 years of service with Yarmouth County Ground Search and Rescue; as well as the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association.
When Bob wasn’t dedicating his time to his community, he enjoyed expressing his creative side. Bob was an artesian at heart and loved working with Wood, Sea Glass and any other medium he could find. A talented Craftsman, Bob carried on projects started by his late father Ralph; using Ralph’s designs he created unique trivets and other wooden crafts. As a proud Acadian, Bob spent timeless hours crafting tiny Acadian buoy key chains, earrings and many other crafts. Bob was also an avid photographer who loved capturing scenic landscapes and images of nature.
Bob enjoyed a very busy lifestyle pursuing his many passions which included spending time with family and friends, creating crafts, hiking, kayaking and serving his community and church. Bob will be dearly missed by many.
Bob is survived by his son Thierry (Lisa Marie) Surette; his partner Bernice Comeau, his siblings Donna (Bill) Cross, Joanne (Brian) Newell, Mary (John) Jeffery, Kenny (Glenda) Surette, Paulette Surette, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Huskilson’s Funeral Home in Yarmouth. A visitation will take place on Friday, January 10, 2025 from 6pm – 8pm, with prayers at 7pm in Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Yarmouth. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Melbourne, Nova Scotia. Father Pat O’Meara officiating. Interment will follow in Saint Raphael Parish Cemetery, Pinkney’s Point, Nova Scotia.
