Robert Laking Obituary
It is with broken hearts that the family of Robert Calvin Laking announces his passing on February 18, 2025, at Bobby’s Hospice. Born in Hamilton, Ontario, on April 20, 1957, he was a son of the late Milford Laking and Marjory (nee. Roach) Laking.
Robert is survived by his loving wife SuQing Li; son Aaron, daughter Vicky Lea (Kenneth); brothers: Carl (Kelly), Stephen, Clifford, David, and Brendan; sisters: Mable, Brenda, Anna, and Dorothy; grandchildren: Joshua (Lizeth), Michael (Tammy) Ethan (Kathleen) Andrew, Isabella, and Thomas, several nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends.
Besides his parents Robert was predeceased by his stepfather Robert MacIntosh, and infant son Joseph.
Robert loved travelling and visited many cities and countries over the years. Some of his favorite trips were to China, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Quebec City, Fortress Louisburg and the Cabot Trail. He also enjoyed camping and deep-sea fishing. Robert was an avid reader, hockey fan and history buff with a passion for ancient history.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Pastor Charlie Thompson and Magid and Nancy Debly for all you have done for Robert over the many years.

In respecting Robert’s wishes cremation has taken place with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
