Robert (Bob) Bruce Ferguson passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025 at the age of 79 at Tansley Woods Long Term Care Facility after a long battle with Dementia. Bob will be remembered with love and fondness by so many that knew him.
Born on August 8,1946, in Toronto to parents, Bob and Grace Ferguson. He leaves behind his wife, Pamela who stood by Bob’s side as a loving wife for 56 years. Bob’s life was marked by his unwavering love and dedication to his family. Raising two daughters Jilaine (Steve) and Amanda (Chris). Cherished Grandfather to Alexis and Jack. Dear brother of Barbara.
Also many in-laws and nieces and nephews and extended family. Nothing was more important to Bob than his family.
He was predeceased by his parents Robert (Bob Sr.) Grace Ferguson (nee Wade) and brother Jack Ferguson.
Bob was born in Toronto. He graduated from Burnhamthorpe Collegiate and attended Algonquin College in Ottawa. His career was in Sales Management and Marketing in Ontario and Western Regions and travelled in Canada and USA .
He will be remembered for his wisdom, humour and gentle strength of his character. Bob had a great passion for sports. He played in the Burlington Oldtimer’s Slowpitch League and played tennis at Aldershot Tennis Club and was a goal tender for Burlington Oldtimer’s Hockey Association. He umpired baseball and enjoyed watching all sports. He also loved his dogs who brought him so much joy. Bob was a founding member of Grace (Tansley) United Church and participated in committees, ushering and also volunteered for the Food For Life Program.
Bob loved to travel and enjoyed many holidays camping and cruising and going to the East Coast visiting family in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia every year.
Bob’s memory will be treasured by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Bob was kind, caring and had a great sense of humor, greeting people with a smile and joke. He will be remembered by so many.
Visitation will be at Grace United Church, 2111 Walkers Line, Burlington, Ontario on Friday, February 7, 2025 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Followed by a Celebration of Life service. Reception to follow.
