Robert “Bob” Laskey Obituary
With broken hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Robert “Bob” Joseph Laskey which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on March 5th, 2025.
Born October 21st, 1940 in Saint John, N.B. to Mary Corbin (née Gallant), he leaves behind cherished memories for those who knew and loved him.
Bob found joy in driving, walking, and spending time with his family. He had a deep passion for wrestling and was an avid pool player in his younger years, earning the nickname “Chips” among friends at Ideal Pool Hall. Bob always had a joke or a story to tell which then became known as Bob Tales.
Working many jobs in his youth, he then went on to Pope’s Machine Shop, McAvity’s, until finally dedicating more than 25 years of his career to Lantic Sugar in Saint John until its closure in 2000. His hard work and commitment were well known among colleagues and friends.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Anita; daughters Wendy Lindsay (Dwayne) and Laurie LeBlanc (David); grandchildren Darren LeBlanc, Keri-Lynn LeBlanc (Craig), Chelsea Lindsay (Michael) and Nate Lindsay; Grand Fur Babies Lily, Atitus, Jumba and Spock; sister Maddy; sisters-in-law Dorothy Laskey and Ruth Corbin; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Mary Corbin; brothers Lloyd, Eddie, and Frank; and sister Anita.
As per Bob’s wishes, there will be no service. Those who wish to honor his memory may consider a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Cancer Research.
May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
