Robert Baynton Obituary
September 1, 1958 – January 13, 2025
66 Years
Sadly, on the morning of Monday, January 13th Robert passed away at the Rosthern Hospital. He is now rounding up cattle in the afterlife on his horse Jet.
A couple of years ago he was diagnosed with dementia. On December 10th he was put in respite to regulate his meds and on December 12th we received word that he had cancer, sadly the cancer took him a month later.
He was born to Johnny and Edith Baynton of Carlton, SK. He was 5th in the line of 8 children. Robs heart was always in the farm, taking it over from his dad. He was in the armed forces for a time, welding, trucker, and councillor in Division 6 of the RM of Rosthern 403. Every year in the spring and fall he loved the cattle drives with all his favorite people and horses. In the winter he loved curling at the local Laird Curling Rink and bonspiels with family and friends.
In 1986 he met and fell in love with his best friend, Carla Kolsun, 1989 they were married. They had 2 beautiful children, daughter Amberlee and son Austin (Courtney) and their 3 beautiful boys, Timothy, Oliver and Ethan. Rob’s grandchildren were his pride and joy.
He was survived by 6 siblings, numerous nieces, nephews, and an abundance of friends. He was predeceased by his parents John and Edith and brother David.
