At his home in
Roseneath, Robert Alphonsus (Bobby) Cain, 78, passed unexpectedly but
peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, March 8, 2025. Born in Montague,
he was the son of the late James and Catherine (nee Corcoran) Cain of
New Perth.
Bobby is
survived by his beloved siblings, John (Elizabeth), Jim (Judy), Joseph
(Linda), Mary (Joe) McGuire, Margie (Ron Pringle), Joan (Dale)
Murchison; brother-in-law Alex Bruce and many cherished nieces,
nephews, and cousins. Besides his parents, James and Catherine, Bobby
is predeceased by an infant sister Eileen; brother Paul; and sister
Catherine.
Bobby had an
early interest in farming, working on the family farm, and for other
local farmers. He was employed across Canada in the trades for over 40
years in elevator installation, the oil field, and building
construction. Bobby acquired his Journeyman Carpenter Red Seal
C.
Over the
years, Bobby was a dedicated, capable gardener who found joy in
sharing his gardening tips and harvests. He loved to play golf and
enjoyed the camaraderie of rounds with family and friends. Bobby took
an active interest in news at all levels and was ready to offer his
perspectives, often with a humourous observation. He made on-going
contact with family and friends a priority and many will miss those
frequent personal connections.
