Rita Soucy of St-Léonard, NB, passed away peacefully at the Foyer
Notre-Dame Nursing Home in St-Léonard, NB, on Saturday, January
11, 2025, at the age of 90 years and 11 months. She was the wife of
the late Roméo “Bi” Soucy.
Rita was born in Drummond, NB, on January 19, 1934. She was the
daughter of André Lebel and Marie-Anne (Lavoie). Rita leaves
behind her children Lorraine Soucy (John) of Ottawa, ON, Suzanne
Mockler (Percy) of St-Léonard, NB, Diane Chiasson (André) of
St-André, NB, Claude Soucy (Nicole) of St-Léonard-Parent,
NB, Aline Mazerolle (Guy) of St-Léonard, NB, Yvette Toner
(Gerald) of Grand Falls, NB, Denyse LaFrance (Jacques) of Grand Falls,
NB, and Gaétan Soucy (Debra) of St-Léonard, NB; 20
grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren; three sisters, Marie-Ange
Cormier of St-Léonard-Parent, NB, Yolande Evans of Laval, Qc, and
Odette Bayard of Laval, Qc; and predeceased by one sister, Roseanne,
and two brothers, Benoît and René.
Mrs. Soucy’s funeral will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 4 pm
at the St-Léonard Parish Church. Interment will be in the parish
cemetery at a later date.
Mrs. Soucy’s family will be receiving condolences at the back of the
church from 3-4pm on Friday.
For those who wish, memorial donations to the Foyer Notre-Dame Nursing
Home would be appreciated by the family.
