It is with great sadness, deep sorrow, and much love, that we mourn the peaceful passing of Rita Salvati (nee DeThomasis) at the age of 79 years on Sunday, February 2, 2025.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 60 years Valentino Salvati, children Nicoletta Bonafede, Antonella (David) Burnham, Marisa (Jeffery) Bolton, Sandra (Bryan) Rene, proud Nonna of 10 grandchildren Jules, Elizabeth, Madison, Taylor, Kara, Abigail, Rachel, Lauryn, Nolan, and Cameron.
She was predeceased by her loving parents Maria Concetta (nee Danese), and Luigi DeThomasis, brother Giuseppe DeThomasis. She will be dearly missed by her siblings Rocco (Dorina) DeThomasis, Angela (Tony) Rauti, and sister-in-law Anna DeThomasis.
She will be greatly missed by her brother in laws and sister in laws, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Her passion for her family was like no other. She poured her love into everything that she did; cooking, baking, sewing, and entertaining.
She was a devoted and Godly woman who prayed daily for her family.
Family would like to thank many PSWs that took care of Rita over the years, iAID of Windsor especially Kim Francis for the upmost care and support.
A special thank you to her dear niece Anna LaFrieniere for always being there.
Visitation will be at Families First Funeral Home, Amherstburg on Friday, February 7th from 11:00am-12:30pm, followed by the service at 12:30pm. Interment to follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
