Obituary of Richard Thompson
The family of James Richard Thompson, known to loved ones as “Richard,” sadly announces that he passed away at the DECH on February 1st, 2025.
He was born on December 8, 1941 to James and Marion Thompson in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Richard worked his career at CP rail in Toronto and Montreal before retiring with his family in his hometown of Fredericton, NB.
Richard was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with his family and spoiling his fur babies. He loved to cook, and we will forever remember his tasty meals and sometimes less-than-tasty “Flubber” cake incidents. He was a history buff and enjoyed historical books and documentaries.
Richard is survived by his devoted wife, Lois; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gregory (Natasha), and Derek (Victoria), and his three grandchildren, Dominic, Dunnovan, and Theodore. Richard will be greatly missed by his family and friends and will be fondly remembered forever by many.
For those who wish, memorial donations can be made to the SPCA.
