Obituary of Richard Kerr
Kerr, Richard Gordon
Richard Kerr of Dalkeith passed away peacefully at the age of 79 on Monday, March 24, 2025 at the Ottawa Hospital, with his family gathered around him. Loving son of the late Gordon Kerr and the late Eleanor Niven. Loving husband and best friend of Patricia (née Boyland). Proud father of Carolyn Kerr (John Lam), Sunny Kerr (Anna van der Meulen), Gord Kerr, Rosie Kerr (Sven Schlegel) and Alison Kerr. Cherished Grandpa of Matthew, Ben, Simon, Nora, Lily and Ruby. Dear brother of Carolyn Jongeward (David), James Kerr (Gabby). Remembered by niece Crystal, and nephews Devon and Gregory, and missed by brothers-in-law Rich Boyland and Phil Boyland (Brenda Brown) and sister-in-law Elaine Pomfrey.
Richard found joy in the outdoors, whether working in his extensive gardens, swimming, canoeing, walking in the woods, or supervising construction of his home and greenhouse. He enjoyed helping people and advising homeowners about wood heating. Richard loved music and he loved to dance! His happy outgoing personality, joie-de-vivre, generous spirit, and his appreciation for nature will remain a lasting inspiration to all who knew him.
The family invites you to attend a Celebration of Life for Richard on Friday, April 4, 2025 at the Dalkeith Community Centre at 2:30 pm, with a Memorial Ceremony at 3pm, followed by a Reception.
In memory of Richard, donations to the Friends of Glengarry Trails Association would be appreciated. (info@glengarrytrails.com)
