Richard Bonneau Obituary
Obituary of Richard Sylva Bonneau
We rejoice in the Promise of eternal life as Richard Sylva Bonneau left us March 30, 2025, at 8:50 AM for his home in Heaven.
Richard was born June 18, 1943, in Sweetsburg Quebec. The only child of Sylva Rudolph Bonneau and Grace (Cooey) Bonneau. Richard grew up on the south shore of Montreal and spent many summers with his favourite grandmother in Foster Quebec.
Richard met his wife, Jennie Leona Howe, at the Royal Victory Hospital in Montreal, where his father was a patient then. His parents stayed in contact because Jennie was far from home and felt she needed support. His dad took a picture of her home and showed it to Richard, after pondering for a few moments, he said this is the girl I am going to marry.
Richard met Jennie January 10th, 1964 (Love at 1st sight) were married Jan 1st, 1965, and went on to have three children Richard, Loriann, and Bradley. They lived for a while in Montreal, Stanstead Quebec, and Lynn Lake Manitoba. On the way to the State of Maine for a mining job, he was invited to check Falconbridge and was hired on the spot, and Sudbury became our final home.
Later became Northwest Divisional Manager with Globe & Mail and worked with newspapers from there forward to Dec 2022. Richard was a family man, sometimes working three jobs to make sure his family was provided for. Church and walking with God was important to him and praying for his children and their children to grow up to know and follow God’s plan for their lives.
Richard is survived by his wife Jennie Bonneau, son Richard Jr., daughter Loriann Burns her spouse Paul, Bradley (predeceased) his spouse Melissa (Cromwell). He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Jonathon, Nikolas, Savannah, Ashley Kelly her spouse Chris, Mackenzie her boyfriend Brandon, Mariah her fiancé Spencer, Bradley jr, Emily, Brittany her fiancé Sheldon, Zack, Jackson, Harper Kay. As well as by his great grandchildren Aiden, Destiny, Bentley, Braydon, Emily, Cylus & Ivory. Also survived by his brother-in-law Paul Howe (Imelda) and his niece Sandra. Cousins Pierre, Lynn, Michelle, Melanie, their families and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents who have gone on before.
Together Richard & Jennie celebrated 60 years married Jan 1st, 2025.
Richard is now Rejoicing in Heaven with His Saviour and Lord, family, and friends.
Until we meet again in Heaven, God Bless and give you His Peace.
Committal and celebration of life to be held Saturday June 21,2025. Details will follow at a later date.
