It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Rodney Easte, born October 26th 1946 in Regina Saskatchewan, who left us peacefully on February 18th 2025. He spent the final years of his life in Abbotsford, BC, where he resided for over 30 years.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Leslie; his sister, Margaret; and his brother, Jimmy. He is also deeply mourned by his daughter, Sharlene (Jared), and his cherished granddaughter, Peyton.
Richard retired from his position at Ecco Heating over 10 years ago, and in his retirement, he enjoyed watching his favourite football teams, the Calgary Stampeders and the Seattle Seahawks. His love for the game was evident in the way he could often be found yelling at the TV when his teams weren’t performing as he hoped.
Richard had a deep love for his dogs, often taking them on walks around Mill Lake, where he enjoyed meeting new people and striking up friendly conversations. These walks were not only a way for him to enjoy nature, but also a chance to connect with others in his community.
He also had a special fondness for the natural beauty of the Alberta mountains, and he cherished the trips he took to explore the majestic landscapes that held a special place in his heart.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Richard’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, humour, and a love for life that will never be forgotten.
No service will be held due to his wishes.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Westie Rescue.
