Obituary
We are saddened to announce the passing of Richard Kelly, after a yearlong battle with Multiple Myeloma, at the Palliative Care Unit in the Western Long Term Care Home on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the age of 69.
An avid outdoorsman, Rick preferred the peace and solitude of “the Camp,” however the pride he felt for his family was evident in everything he did. He loved deeply, and was fiercely protective. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 47 years, Donna; his two girls: Jennifer (Ed), and Lisa; his grandchildren: Matthew, Maggie, and Josie; his siblings: Dan, Mary Alice (John), Ivy (Dave), Iris (Lee), Donna (Wayne), Judy (David), Kathy (Larry), Paul, Denise (Darryl), and Grant; his sisters and brother in law: Doug (Brenda), Barbara, and Brenda, all of his nieces and nephews, along with a long list of extended family and friends. Rick was predeceased by his parents Richard and Drucilla, niece Pamela, and nephews Daniel and Paul.
We would like to thank Dr. Grant and Dr. Dunne, along with all the other Doctors and Nurses at Western Memorial Regional Hospital and the St. Johns Health Sciences Centre, who took care of Rick this past year. We would also like to give special thanks to all the nurses at the Dialysis Unit who took care of Rick every week, who he adored.
Per Richards wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a visitation at Country Haven Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 from the hours of 2-4 pm. There will be no formal funeral service at this time. Interment to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, there are no flowers by request, donations can be made to the Multiple Myeloma Canada Foundation at myeloma.ca/
