Our hearts are broken. With deepest sorrow, we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son, Richard, at home, in his 52nd year. After having spent a wonderful New Year’s Day with Richie, we dropped him off at home, said “I Love You”, not knowing it would be the last time. I wish I had hugged him longer.
Richard was a loving, caring and warm person, who was loved by many. He was a hard working man and always worried more about others than he did himself. He loved all animals, but especially dogs. He liked to consider himself a “dog whisperer”, and treated many of the dogs in the neighborhood to special peanut butter treats. Rich loved fishing, the outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. He was always up for an adventure, including a brief acting gig and doing the New Year Polar Bear Plunge in Lake Ontario many years ago. He was the kindest soul and his concern for others was unsurpassed. It has given us so much comfort to see and hear how much he was loved and admired by his family and friends.
Beloved son of Tom & Lynn. Loving brother of Penny & Scott (Nicole). Cherished nephew of Cindy & Ain, who were like his second parents. Loving uncle of Katy, Ava, Marcus, Owen & Jocelyne. Dearest cousin to Lisa, Kevin, Michael, Cara & Bridie, and many more, too numerous to mention. Richard leaves behind many dear friends, but in particular, his best friend Tammy. Richard was predeceased by his loving Nanny & Da, and Mamma & Grampie.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held in Richie’s honour at The Wing, 447 RCAFA, 3210 Homestead Drive, Mount Hope, ON, January 19, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, and if desired, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, SPCA, or Salvation Army.
