BURNS, Richard Albert
January 3, 1944 – February 26, 2025
Albert passed away peacefully with family by his side at NSHN-Thessalon. Devoted and loving father of Darla-Jean, Carey, Boyce (Karen), Andre, James and Arlene. Proud grandfather of 5 and great grandfather of 1. Brother of Irene Lanigan (late Mike), Lynn Berlinguette (late Maurice), Dianne Burns, Dan (Vickie) and Michael (JoAnne). Predeceased by his parents Andy and Mary Burns and siblings Alice Schuler (late Ernie), Margaret Featherstone (late Don), Anne-Marie Marshall (late Lester), Louie Burns (late Anna), Bob Burns (Fran) and Pat Burns (Pam). Albert was adored by many and will be greatly missed by nieces, nephews, his St. Ambrose Catholic Church community and his friends and neighbours at West Winds Shore Apartments.
Albert was quick witted and always ready with a joke. He was funny and had a great sense of humour.
His family and friends could count on him to help them through any situation. He would help anyone if he could.
He was a jack of all trades, able to fix a car or build a house.
We will deeply miss him being in our world, it will never be the same without him.
The family wishes to thank Albert’s PSWs, his doctors and nurse practitioners at West Winds Shore, as well as the staff at NSHN-Thessalon.
Donations in memory of Albert can be made to St. Ambrose Catholic Church towards the lift or a charity of your choice.
Family and friends are invited to a Funeral Mass at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 286 Water Street, Thessalon on Friday, March 7, 2025, beginning at 1130am. Father Clarence Dinesh officiating. Spring interment at Pine Grove Cemetery.
