Rhonda Jean St. Louis
Saturday May 23rd, 1936 – Friday May 16th, 2025
Our family is heartbroken to share that Rhonda Jean St. Louis (nee Coons) passed away peacefully at the Brockville General Hospital on Friday May 16th, 2025, in her 89th year, following a brief illness. Born on May 23rd, 1936, in Brockville, Ontario, Rhonda was the daughter of the late Margaret (Anderson) and Ewart Coons. She lived in Cardinal, Ontario all her life and loved her little community. Rhonda married her high school sweetheart, Edward St. Louis on October 4th, 1958. Together they raised three children and shared a lifetime of devoted partnership, laughter and unwavering love for each other. Rhonda is survived by her beloved husband Edward, her loving children Eddie, Stephanie and Michele (Rob); dear brother Carl; her cherished grandchildren Makayla, Matthew, Eric and Michael, as well as nieces Patti, Jennifer and nephews Rich, Howie and Terry. She was preceded in death by her sister Margaret Peters and niece Margaret Ann Stockill. Rhonda was the heart and soul of her family and known for her kind, gentle spirit and lived her life to the fullest. Her positivity and smile touched the lives of many and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends. As an active member of St. John’s United Church in Cardinal, Ontario, she enjoyed the faith and fellowship her church family provided.
At Rhonda’s request, there will be no visitation. A graveside memorial service for family will take place on Saturday June 7th, 2025, at the St. John’s Cemetery in Cardinal, where she will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers, and if desired, donations can be made to Brockville General Hospital (BDHF Palliative Care). In keeping with Mom’s legacy of kindness, our family asks you to pass on that quality to others. Our family is grateful for the many friends and family members who reached out and provided comfort and encouragement, as well as hospital visits. Your kindness will not be forgotten. The family extends our sincere thanks to Christine Edge and the dedicated team of doctors, nurses and volunteers at the Brockville General Hospital (Palliative Care Unit) for providing comfort and care for Rhonda. If donating online, please notify the funeral home so as to have a card placed for the family. Online may be made at marsdenmclaughlin.com
