Obituary of Randall Boyd Sheldrick
It is with heavy hearts and great sorrow that we announce the tranquil passing of Randall Boyd Sheldrick, in his 77th year. He passed peacefully in Ottawa surrounded by the love of his family and friends.
He was a devoted, kind and selfless father to his children Melissa and Jordan
Sheldrick, both of who, he loved beyond measure.
Randall is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Linda Sheldrick.Randall and Linda met in 1974 and married in 1976. There are many fond memories of laughter and good times.
Randall will be fondly remembered for his generousity, wry sense of humour (it’s the quiet ones that you have to watch out for!) and for his fierce devotion to his family.
He was predeceased by his father Oral Boyd Sheldrick and his mother Bernice Florence ( Lapierre). He was a loving brother to Diane ( Wilson) and Catherine ( Lapointe), uncle to Michelle Wilson, Mallory Wilson-Roux, Julia Hiltz, Zachary Lapointe and predeceased by Austin Lapointe.
Randall was born in Pembroke but due to his father’s military career, he also called Kingston, Soest Germany and finally Ottawa, home.
Many thanks to The Ottawa General Hospital, particularly 5 East and the Palliative Care Team, for their compassion, kindness and patience to Randall and his family.
In memoriam, donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated. As per Randall’s wishes, his remains will be interred at a later date at Pinecrest Cemetary and a gathering to celebrate his life, will be held for family and friends on a beautiful summers day. There will be no service.
He always said, “there is no rush”…One more wish of Randall’s “thank you Michael”.
