Ralph Frost Obituary
With great sadness, we announce the passing of Ralph Frost at age 75 on January 27, 2025, at South Health Campus Hospital in Calgary, surrounded by his loving family.
Born August 26, 1949, in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Ralph was the son of the late Ralph and Lillian (Stevens) Frost. He is survived by his wife, Diane (MacDonald) Frost, and his three sons, Ralph (Debbie), Steven (Maria), and Richard (Traci). He is also survived by his grandchildren Alex, Leah, Connor, Hannia, Jhoan, Sam, and Katie, as well as his brother Bob (Donna) Frost, sister Bev Sibley, and a large extended family. Ralph was predeceased by his parents and his brother-in-law Jim Sibley.
At just fourteen Ralph met the love of his life, Diane. Four years later, the proud Cape Bretoners packed their lives into a single suitcase each and set off for Calgary. They eventually settled in Okotoks where they built a home and life together. Ralph began his career in the welding industry and, with his sharp business sense and entrepreneurial drive, eventually started various companies. He had a natural talent for sales and marketing, which served him well throughout his career.
As a devoted father to three rambunctious boys, Ralph was deeply involved in their sports, often stepping in as a coach. He was an immensely proud father and grandfather, spending countless hours cheering from the stands—especially at the hockey rink. In recent years, he found great joy in watching his grandkids’ hockey games on TV.
Beyond his love for family and sports, Ralph had a passion for gardening and took pride in everything he grew. He was fiercely loyal, known for his stubborn determination and straightforward nature. He had an uncanny ability to connect with kids, who always seemed to gravitate toward him, possibly sensing his soft heart beneath that tough exterior. Visits from his family in Cape Breton were also highlights of his life, and he cherished those moments dearly.
Ralph will be deeply missed by his wife Diane, his children, grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
As per Ralph’s wishes, a private gathering has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Okotoks Food Bank.
