Pietro “Peter” Saltarelli Obituary
Saltarelli, Pietro (Peter) Domenico
1953-2025
Surrounded by the warmth and love of family and embraced by their presence and prayers, he closed his eyes and sadly slipped away in the late afternoon of Sunday March 9th, 2025, into the arms of the Lord and Loved Ones Lost.
Peter was a severely proud man of integrity who was fiercely independent with a passion for life and family. He was an avid bocce player, faithful parishioner, master crossword puzzler, sparkling conversationalist at Timmies and an enormous fan of Elvis Presley and his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs. He was also a dog and cat lover and enthusiast who adored his feline friends, “Lucky” and “Blackie.”
There must be Perfect JOY and Beauty in The Everlasting Light — all the pain, grief and suffering are over, every restless tossing passed.
Peter is survived by his brother Liberato (Albert) Saltarelli, brother-in-law Dino P. Sicoli (Lily) and sister-in-law Mary Saltarelli. He will be sadly missed by his nieces Flora (Tony), Christina (David) and Laura; nephews — Tony (Tina), Carmen (Lisa), John (Audrey), Daniele (Susie), Dino Michael and Paul (Kristina). Peter will also be missed by many great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He is predeceased by his parents Carmine & Maria Saltarelli, sisters Patricia & Lucy, brothers Jerry & Tony, sisters-in-law Grace & Jean, brother-in-law Umberto Della Ventura and niece Maria Saltarelli.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt appreciation of gratitude, admiration and respect to the nurses and doctors in the ER and on the 3rd and 4th floor of the Welland General Hospital — You Were Awesome and are a Tremendous Asset to the Health Care Industry!! May God Bless and look after Peter as he reunites with all of those who he loved and who loved him…
Peter’s family will receive friends and loved ones at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Wednesday March 12, 2025 from 5 – 7 p.m. and on Thursday March 13, 2025 from 12 – 2 p.m. Funeral Mass will follow on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church, 375 Main Street West, Port Colborne with Fr. Peter Walton as celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. St. Joseph Cemetery. If so desired, an expression of love and sympathy in Peter’s memory may be made and most appreciated with a donation to Toronto SickKids Hospital.
