Obituary
Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family, at St Clare’s Mercy Hospital, St. John’s, on Sunday, February 16, 2025, Pierre Francis Critch of Gaskiers, St. Mary’s Bay, aged 62 years.
Predeceased by his parents Helen (1992) and John (2010), sister Olive (1996) and brother Gary (2016).
Leaving to mourn his brothers: Revelyn (Annie), Pius (Teresa), Rick, John and Glen (Rosemarie), sister-in-law Elizabeth, brother- in-law Frank, many nieces and nephews who were dear to his heart, and many other relatives and friends.
We would like to express our sincerest gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Clare’s and the NL Health Services ambulance staff in St. Mary’s, who all provided such great care and support to Pierre and our family during his final hours. A special thank you is also extended to Todd Squires and staff of St. Mary’s Pharmacy, Cheryl Goulding (NP) and the staff of St. Mary’s Health Center, our friends and neighbors for their acts of kindness and George and Josephine of Gibbons’ Funeral Home for their compassion, care and continued friendship.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements will be conducted by Gibbons’ Funeral Home, St. Mary’s, where the family will be receiving relatives and friends, on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 2:00 – 4:00pm; 6:00 – 8:00pm. A visitation will also be held on Saturday, February 22, from 12:30 – 1:30pm, at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, St. Mary’s, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00pm. Inurnment to follow. A reception will be held at the Gaskiers Community Hall following the funeral – everyone is welcome to attend.
Pierre was blessed to have been able to live at home where he received such excellent care and attention from his family, especially from his brother John to whom we will be forever grateful.
