MAHAR, Phyllis Elaine ~ Age 71, of Weltons Corner, Kings Co., N.S., passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025, in Valley Hospice, Kentville. Born on April 27, 1953, in Berwick, Kings Co., she was a daughter of the late Ernest B. and Leona M. (Spicer) Mapplebeck.
Phyllis had worked as a C.C.A. and had been employed at Grand View Manor, Berwick, for 25 years, retiring in 2016. She loved taking photographs and time spent at the beach on the Bay of Fundy Shore.
Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Vernon W. Mahar; sons, Blaine (Zabrina) Mahar, Coldbrook; Curtis Mahar, Berwick; Quinn Mahar, Wolfville; grandchildren, Morgan, Zoe, Dawson, Levi and Graceson; great grandchildren, Carlie, Charlotte and Colton; sister, Tamara (Phillip) Elwood; brothers, Eric (the late Kathy), Neil (Denice) and Dwight (Angela) Mapplebeck; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, toll free 1-855-825-3448, from where the funeral service will take place 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 14. Pastor Jarman Ley officiating, with interment in Burlington Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in her memory may be made to Valley Hospice Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society.
