HARMER: Philip Graham “Phil” of Drumbo, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at the Woodstock Hospital, in his 83rd year.
Dear father of Beth & husband Doug McRuer of Ayr, Joanne & husband Tim Yantzi of Shakespeare and Scott & wife Deanne of Alban. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Will, Matthew, Keith, Reese, Leah, Morgan and Hayley. Phil will also be remembered by his sister Janet Harmer of Drumbo. Predeceased by his parents Ray & Esther McVittie) Harmer.
Phil operated Harmer’s Market in Drumbo for 18 years and was very active in the community having served on the Drumbo Fire Department for 44 years retiring as District Chief, a 49 year member of the Drumbo Lions Club, the Drumbo Heritage Society, the Drumbo Cemetery Board, having coached for many years with both the Drumbo Minor Ball and Drumbo Minor Hockey. Phil was also an avid antique car buff, enjoyed traveling and he also could be found in local arenas and ball parks watching his kids, grandchildren and the local teams. He will be missed by many friends in the Drumbo community, enjoying a beverage and chat on his daily walks or at community events.
A private family graveside service will take place in the Drumbo Cemetery.
