PACZYNSKI Peter, born March 15, 1930, in Czarnkow, Poland, died February 9, 2025, at his home in Grand Bend, Ontario, Canada. Predeceased by parents Julius and Elizabeth, brother Gido, and wife Geneva. Anyone who knew Peter would know he led an interesting life; from fleeing from his home during WW2 at the age of 15, to traveling by boat across the North Sea and Atlantic Ocean, arriving in Canada at the age of 24.
Some highlights were spending summers in Gdansk on the Baltic Sea as a child, meeting Josephine Baker backstage at a performance in Frankfurt, and vacationing in Miami during the Martin Luther King march. As a self-trained electrical engineer, Peter built radio stations all over Ontario, which included CFPL where he was Engineering Manager from 1963-1996, receiving the CCBE Engineer of the year award in 1989.
Peter married the love of his life, Genny, and they spent 48 years dancing to their song, ‘You Needed Me’ by Anne Murray. Peter’s greatest accomplishment was caring for Genny, especially the last 10 years of her life as she struggled with Alzheimer’s Disease. Being a fastidious and independent person, Peter preferred to do things for himself in the quiet of his home in the woods. His circle was small, but he was loyal and generous to those in it. Following Peter’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service. Donations may be made to Sarnia Bayshore Home Health (nursing), who assisted Peter over the past year.
