March 26, 1945 – January 5, 2025
It is with great sadness that the family of Peter Muise announce his passing at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at the age of 79 years
Peter leaves to mourn with many loving memories his wife Mary (nee Aspell) of 53 years; his two children Sandra Muise and Lorne (Sandy Barrington) Muise; his grandchildren Aimee Smith, Amelia Muise, and his great-grandchildren Charlie and Blaire Coleman. Also left to mourn are his two sisters-in-law Vivian (Melvin MacDonald) and Philomena (James Boland) and their children: Blair, Mark, Denise, Shawn, and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends, John & Christine Merrigan, Ruby Henderson, Florence Young, and Rodney Renouf.
Peter was pre-deceased by his parents Peter & Marjorie Muise; grandparents John & Mary Muise, who were exceptional in his upbringing; Joseph & Josephine Swyers, his in laws: Cornelius & Margaret Aspell and special aunt & uncle Harold & Olivia Swyers.
Peter was an electrician at the Abitibi Price Papermill in Stephenville for 38 years where he met and worked with many close friends throughout the years.
The immediate family would like to thank Dr. Dwyer & Dr. Lewis, the staff at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, especially nurses Haleigh, Trisha and Vanessa who were exceptional during Peter’s final hours, and to the Community Health Nurses , Shauna and Jessica for Peter’s care at home. A special thank you to the St. George’s Fire Department who were always there in times of need.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the St. George’s Fire Department in Peter’s memory.
Following Peter’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
Visitation, Monday, January 13, 2025, from 2:00 – 4:00 & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. @ Fillatre’s Funeral Home in Stephenville Crossing. Funeral Mass on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church in St. George’s with Fr. Edmund Dantes officiating. Burial service will be held at a later date.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing, NL.
