It is with great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Peter Verhoysen on his 73rd birthday, April 1, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at Sprucedale Care Centre. Beloved husband of Jane (nee Morgan) of 47 loving years. Loving and proud dad of Amy Verhoysen (Jeff Nauman). Cherished papa of Brighton and Renner. Pete is survived by his sisters Maria Houben and Carol (Martin) Strik. Predeceased by his mom Anna Verhoysen (Peters), his dad Theodore and stepmom Ali Verhoysen. Pete will be sadly missed and always remembered by his many nieces, nephew, extended family, friends, neighbours and all who knew him.
Pete was a talented mechanic at Park Lane Motors. He began right out of high school where he dedicated his time working his entire career for over 40 years. Cars were Pete’s passion, whether it was fixing them, restoration of old cars, watching Nascar, Pete was always involved in the mechanics. Pete was always working hard to better himself, always taking more courses to constantly learn. Over his lifetime he has received many awards that could fill a wall. It wasn’t work to Pete, it was what brought him peace and joy throughout his life. He was a member of Sarnia Street Machines. Pete attended many car shows over the years with his 1939 Lasalle that he fully built himself. Pete and Jane did some travelling over the years, adventuring through life together, creating the best of memories. Pete was the most proud of his family, proud beyond words of his daughter Amy and her children Brighton and Renner who always brought a smile to his face.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 6th, 2025 from 3:00p.m.- 7:00p.m. at DENNING’S OF WATFORD. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 7th, 2025 at the funeral home at 11:00a.m. Interment to follow at Watford Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Sprucedale Care Centre. Online condolences and donations may be left at www.watfordfuneralhome.com.
