Obituary of Peter Antonius Nicolaas Giebels
Peter (Petrus Antonius Nicholaas Giebels) passed away peacefully on February 20, 2025 in the presence of his loving family in his 85th year.
Predeceased by his parents Cornelius and Mary; brothers Lambert, Harry, and Cornelius; and sisters Annie, Willie, Rite, and Diny.
Leaving to mourn his loving wife Linda; daughters Mariska (Paul) of Toronto and Natasha (Dean) of Fredericton; sister Beppy of Netherlands; granddaughter Rachel; step children Devin and Ryan; and his step-grandchildren Cade, Ethan, Arko.
Peter was born in Helmond, a City in the Province of North Brabant in the Southern Netherlands. He received formal techical training and worked in the Textile Industry for many years. He immigrate to the US and then to Canada in 1968. He resided in Ontario until his move to Fredericton in 2005. Peter also worked in the Insurance and Real Estate Industry prior to his retirement.
He was a member the Rotary Club of Fredericton North, Gideons International, a York Care Center Volunteer. A life long committed “christian” Peter was always active in his Church Choir and his life was enriched by a love of singing, music and related church activities.
Peter exhibited a warm and approachable personality, always eager to meet and engage with new people.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the Nursing Staff and Caregivers at Medley Hall for the love and care they gave to Peter during his stay there.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Life will be planned for a later date.
