SUNDQUIST: Peter
August 19, 1935 – January 31, 2025
The death of Peter Sundquist occurred at Humboldt Hospital on January 31st, 2025. He was born August 19, 1935, at Venn, Saskatchewan to Per and Elisabeth Sundquist. He graduated from the School of Agriculture in 1956. He met and married, the love of his life, Olive Gulansky in 1958. Peter worked at the University of Saskatchewan farm, then Saskatchewan Wheat Pool, livestock division in Regina and Yorkton. His passion for farming made him return to buy his farm near Venn in 1969. His dream was to retire in 2000, and he did, moving into Watrous in 2000. He enjoyed caring for his yard, coffee and friends as well being active with the Watrous Senior Centre, Watrous Rotary Club and playing cards and shooting pool.
Peter was predeceased by his parents Per and Elisabeth and sisters Loretta (Norman) Williams, Margaret (Wes) Robertson and Vivian (Lloyd) Scott.
Peter is survived by his loving wife Olive, daughters Jennifer (Cameron) Letrud, Melanie (Bob) White, and son Gregory (Jo-Anne), brother Harold (Lenore) and five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The Funeral Service will take place at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Watrous, SK on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 @ 2:00 p.m. A Funeral Lunch will follow in the lower level of the Church immediately following the service. Family Interment in Venn Cemetery. For those so wishing, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Watrous Seniors Centre or St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church would be appreciated.
