Peter John Kralt Obituary
With deep sorrow and hope in the resurrection, we announce that Peter John Kralt was suddenly and unexpectedly called home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Saturday, March 15, 2025.
Peter is lovingly remembered by his best friend and wife of 46 years, Catherine (VanderSpek) Kralt. Their shared love of music was the foundation of a beautiful life together, filled with love and family. He is deeply missed by his five children and his grand children — Anita & Marvin Rozema, (Jonathan & Chloe Rozema (their children Hayes and Ezra), Cole and Erica), Michael & Jeannine Kralt (Eli and Cora), Jacob & Jasmine Kralt (Lily, Jack, Case, Rosa, Iris, and Henk), David Kralt, Corinna & Luke Puklicz (Lucy, Alida, Theo and Clara). Peter took great joy in his grand children and was delighted to learn shortly before his passing that another was expected.
Peter is also fondly remembered by his siblings: John† (Dorothy) Kralt, Jan (Gary) Burnikell, Jerry (Nellie) Kralt, and Jack (Sue) Kralt. He now rests in God’s presence, reunited with his parents, Jacob and Cornelia. He will also be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, and sisters and brothers-in-law.
Peter was born on September 30, 1954, in Hamilton, Ontario to Jacob and Cornelia. He lived simply and fully. He found joy in his daily life, using his gifts and abilities in ways that benefited others. He loved camping, travelling on road trips across this beautiful country, attending concerts (especially organ concerts) and being together with his family and loved ones. He worked for more than 40 years at Kralt Greenhouses with his brother Jerry, and later with his son Jacob, where they brought beauty into the world by growing flowers of all kinds.
A faithful servant of God, he lived a life devoted to family, church, and community. As a life-long member of Calvin Christian Reformed Church, Peter shared his gift of music as a longtime organist where his heartfelt playing enriched worship services and deepened the congregation’s connection to God. Through each hymn, prelude, and postlude, his playing offered praise and brought comfort and joy to all who gathered.
Friends and family are invited to visit with the family at DUNDAS CALVIN CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH on Friday, March 21, 2025 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm where a memorial service will also be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 11:30am (Livestream of the memorial service is available by clicking Watch Event below). A private interment will occur prior to the service.
Donations in Peter’s memory may be made to Indwell, an organization dedicated to providing supportive housing.
