Peter Lord Obituary
After a fairly lengthy illness, Peter James Lord, of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at Chinook Hospital on January 20, 2025, with family by his side.
The youngest of 4 children, Peter was born in Blairmore, AB on July 4, 1952. He moved with his family to Cranbrook, BC in 1957. After high school, Peter built a career with Acklands-Grainger, NAPA and then with
his own computer business, building and servicing computers and software. In Lethbridge, he moved on to Sears and the Brick, continuing to build on his well deserved reputation for quality service. As well as
Cranbrook, Peter lived in Penticton, Port Moody and Vancouver Island before moving to Lethbridge in 2009.
Peter had a deep appreciation for music. He loved to play his guitar and sing, and entertaining a crowd brought him joy throughout his life. He was a lifelong member of the Royal Canadian Legion, as he had pride in his heritage and a great respect for those who served our country. Peter could be often found at the Lethbridge Legion on weekends in the company of a circle of friends. He was a “family man”, cherishing any time spent with his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Peter was predeceased by his loving partner Darlene Brassard in February 2024, his parents George (Sr) and Teresa Lord, and his brother-in-law William Joe. He is survived by his daughters Melanie (Craig) Taylor and Laura (Scott) Cathers, his stepdaughters Tanya (Jason) Hueppelsheuser and Tammy (Glen) Sawa and stepson Trevor (Kim) Brassard, and all their families. He is also survived by his siblings, George (Marlene) Lord, John (Linda) Lord and Terri Joe, and their extended families.
A special thank you is extended to the staff of Good Samaritans Park Meadows and the physicians and nurses of Unit 4A, Chinook Regional hospital, for the exceptional care and compassion for Peter.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Christensen Salmon Generations Funeral Home on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. A Private Family Inurnment will take place in Mountain View Cemetery.
