Obituary
Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre in the presence of his loving family, Peter Hopkins of Green’s Harbour, aged 58 years.
Predeceased by his parents William-John and Jane Hopkins; parents-in-law Gordon and Margaret Piercey; sisters-in-law Ivy Sorensen, Eleanor Piercey and Frances Moores; and brothers-in-law Peter Moores, Lindsay Piercey and Leo Piercey.
Leaving to mourn are his wife of 39 years, Kathleen; son Jason (Felicia); his pride & joy, Pop’s boy, Jayden; god daughter Danielle Pederson; sisters Ann (Roy) Pelley and Winnie (Don) Piercey; brothers Victor (Marilyn), John (Beverly), Nial (Michelle) and Robert (Karen); sisters-in-law Clara (Dave), Irene (Shawn) and Rose; brother-in-law Clifford (Bonnie); special aunt, Florence Hopkins; as well as a large number of cousins and a very large group of special friends who he loved like family.
Even though Peter had many challenges in life, he would always put his welcoming best foot forward by sharing so many laughs in his smirky, sarcastic grin. He loved to have family and friends come by to share a story and a campfire. He took pride in his union of 30 years service with UA 740 and worked as a pipefitter all over Canada and parts of the United States. He was loved by so many and will be forever missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be held from Faith United Church, Green’s Harbour, on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 pm.
A funeral service will be held from Faith United Church, Green’s Harbour, on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 2:00 pm. Inurnment to follow at Faith United Church Cemetery, Green’s Harbour.
Donations in Peter’s memory may be made to the Faith United Church, Green’s Harbour.
