Obituary of Pete MacDonald
Surrounded by the love of his family at the Provincial Palliative Care Center on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 the death occurred peacefully of Peter Alexander MacDonald of Mermaid, age 63 years. Beloved husband of Marilyn nee Bulger. Loving father of Chris, Katie Coll (Graham), Jonah (Katelyn Smallwood-MacDonald) and Jevon (Emma). He will be missed by Marilyn’s daughters Pam Steele (Geoff) and Bethany Sellar (Ben Smith). Grandchildren Amelia Coll; Kelton, Tully and Toby MacDonald; Emmy and Lyla Steele; Harvey Smith. Peter cherished every moment he spent with his grandchildren. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his siblings Kathleen MacDonald, JD (Phyllis), Greg (Anne) and Joan Dennis (Glydon). Dear uncle of Jennifer MacDonald and Jessica Legge; Adriena MacKarenko; Alex, Patrick and Kayla MacDonald; Jill Moore, Jayne Malone, Ami Downham and Sara Henn; and Mathus MacDonald. Predeceased by his parents Athol and Kathleen (Doyle) MacDonald, infant sister Mary Winnifred and brother Philip. Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home from where visiting hours will be held Monday, February 17, 2025 from 4-7 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Assumption, Stratford on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at 10:30 am. Interment will take place later at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown. Memorial donations may be made online to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation.
