Obituary of Pearl St. Pierre
Catherine Laura PEARL St. Pierre (nee Lapointe), born June 4, 1952
Passed away peacefully at Chatham-Kent Hospice surrounded by her loving family January 10, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer since 2010. Pearl grew up in Pain Court, and later lived in Grand Pointe with her loving husband Vincent of 51 years, and her children Jennifer St. Pierre, Brad St. Pierre, and Vickie (Peter) Binsfeld. Special Meme to Tristan (Hope), Avery, and Charlette, sister to Rob (Sue) Lapointe, Roger (Laurie) Lapointe, Renee (Penny) Lapointe, Loving Sister-In-Law to Doreen (Fred) Faubert, Bernice St. Pierre, Jeanette (Bill) Yeck, Edward (Eileen) St. Pierre, Linda (Bob) Lozon, Gary (Georgette) St. Pierre, Lorraine Lozon, Larry (Bernice) St. Pierre, Delores (Rick) Peltier and dear Aunt and Great Aunt to many, MANY nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Paul and Rosaline Lapointe and brother Rick Lapointe, In-laws Harvey and Irene St. Pierre, Ronald St. Pierre, Melvin (Mary Ann) St. Pierre, Marilyn Jubenville, Gordon St. Pierre, Ronald Lozon, and Dianne St. Pierre.
Pearl graduated Nurse’s College in 1972 and went on to impact so many lives during her working years at St. Joseph’s, Hospital, General Hospital, and Fairfield Park where she made many life-long friends. Through her kindness and dedication, she shared her special touch with countless people, leaving behind an endless legacy of lasting memories.
As a proud member and supporter of Pretty in Pink Dover Chapter, Pearl was passionate about giving back to her community. She devoted her time and energy to raising awareness and funds to support others on their cancer journeys, embodying her strength, resilience, and compassion.
Pearl faced her cancer journey with grace and determination for over 14 years, showing incredible strength and inspiring everyone around her. Her unwavering faith, paired with the support of her loved ones, carried her through the hardest days.
Pearl had a love for many hobbies: her fish aquariums, beautiful gardens, baking and canning, puzzles, wood-working, crochet, and macrame, creating lovely pieces for us all to remember her by. The endless pictures, albums, and scrapbooks reflect her passion for preserving memories of everyone and everything. Her dedication to exploring family history was another treasured pastime that kept her busy. She truly was a collector of treasures.
Pearl loved spending time with her great friends, enjoying movie marathons, planning adventures, and embarking on road trips—always stopping to pick milkweed for her next miraculous monarch find. She shared her faith with those around her in church services and through constant prayers, drawing strength and peace from her unwavering belief throughout her cancer journey. Her friends, with their steadfast wisdom and quiet strength, became guiding lights during this chapter, and we are all so grateful for every memory they helped create.
We will find peace, strength, and tranquility in every mesmerizing lighthouse and elegant dragonfly we come across, as they remind us of Pearl’s graceful and enduring spirit.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 from 2:00 – 4:00pm and 7:00 – 9:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculee Conception and St. Philippe Parish, 24150 Winter Line Road, Pain Court at 10:00am on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
