Pauline “Peggy” Brasseur Obituary
Pauline “Peggy” Ivy Brasseur, late of Weyburn, SK passed away January 18, 2025 at the Radville Marian Health Centre at the age of 96 years.
She was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Elizabeth Jewell; her husband of 70 years, Sonny; brothers Harry Jr., Frank, Ted, Roy, Gordon; and infant sister Elizabeth.
Peggy is survived by her daughter Jane; son in law Jerry; granddaughters, Treena (Brad), Syreeta; great granddaughters: Alyssa, Kyla, Mckenna, Janaya and Addyson.
She was born and spent all but the last 7 years in Weyburn. During the war Peggy delivered telegrams and helped send parcels to all 5 of her brothers and other soldiers. Peggy attended All Saints Anglican Church and was a life long member of the Weyburn Legion, serving on the ladies auxiliary, was war mother on Remembrance Day, helped at many teas and told us she peeled lots of potatoes for banquets. Her first job was at Wilson’s Meats where she met her loving husband Sonny, and later worked at the Weyburn Review. Her favorite pastime was baking, playing cards and especially watching curling.
A Graveside Funeral service will be held at a later date at Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn, SK.
We would like to acknowledge the kindness and wonderful care mom received at Marian HC. The staff became her family and she enjoyed their many activities, especially bingo and pub afternoon.
For family and friends so wishing, charitable donations in memory of Peggy may be made to the Radville Marian Health Care Auxiliary, Box 459, Radville, SK, S0C 2G0.
