Paul “Flop” Delaney

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Paul “Flop” Delaney, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, who left us on February 23, 2025, at the age of 68.
Born on June 3, 1956, Paul was a man who lived life to the fullest. For 47 years, he shared a life of love and companionship with his wife, Nancy, as they created a family that was full of love, and cherished memories.
Paul was the proud father of two children, Mike (Paula) and Danielle (Dave) and the cherished grandfather of six grandchildren, Jack, Tanner, Lindsay, Jared, Noah and Ava, and one great-grandchild, Delaney. He took great joy in his role as a grandfather and spent many hours hunting and golfing with the grandkids and having what he liked to call “no rules Saturday”. His presence will be deeply missed by all of them.
An avid outdoorsman, Paul spent much of his life enjoying nature. Whether hunting, fishing, golfing or simply stuck in the mud on the property with one of his toys, he found peace and joy in the great outdoors. He also had a love of sports that started early with hockey as a young kid and playing throughout his teenage years, earning his nickname “flop” and finishing off his hockey career training with the Toronto Marlies. Throughout his life, Paul played a variety of sports, from broomball and squash to pickleball with his most recent passion being golf. He was always eager to take on a new challenge, both on and off the course, and his competitive spirit remained sharp until the end.
Paul’s legacy of kindness and generosity will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be remembered not only for his passion for life but also for the love and laughter he brought into every room.
A celebration of life will be held for family and friends on March 8th from 1-4 at 971 County Road 2, Lansdowne. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation in his memory.
