Jamieson, Paul Douglas
Paul Douglas Jamieson, passed away suddenly on February 10, 2025 at his home in Burlington, ON at the age of 74. Paul was born on September 18, 1950 in Fergus, ON to his late parents Norman and Wilma Jamieson (née Pattison). Paul is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Lynda Jamieson (née Oakman). He was a father to his three wonderful children, Christopher (partner Shideh), Jeff (Lindsey) and was predeceased by his daughter Karen in 2020 (Christopher). Paul was an adoring grandfather to his four grandkids Carter, Callum, Alexis and Kaitlyn. Paul is survived by his brother Ken and is preceded in death by his sister Patricia (Harold) and will be remembered by their families as well as his former daughter-in-law Jenn. Paul was an unforgettable man, whose memory will be cherished by his many extended family members and many friends.
Born and raised on a century farm in Elora, Paul’s early life was steeped in the rhythms of the land. The demanding yet rewarding nature of farm work instilled in him a strong work ethic and an unwavering perseverance. He loved the connection to the earth and the satisfaction of nurturing life, but Paul also possessed an innate curiosity and a yearning for broader horizons.
Driven by this desire for growth, Paul made the pivotal decision to pursue a business education at Mohawk College. This marked a turning point in his life, leading him to a fulfilling career at Moore Business Forms and a move to Burlington, Ontario. Though his professional path diverged from his farming roots, Paul’s love for nature never waned. He found solace and inspiration in birding, a hobby that allowed him to connect with the natural world and hone his remarkable photography skills.
Paul’s upbringing on the farm also fostered a deep appreciation for woodworking. His innate talent and meticulous attention to detail transformed him into a skilled craftsman – He always measured twice and cut once. From crafting small, essential items to building the family’s kitchen cabinets, there was simply no project beyond Paul’s capabilities. His hands, once calloused from farm work, now bore the marks of a craftsman, a testament to his unwavering dedication and boundless versatility.
Paul’s love for his family extended to his role as a grandfather, a role he cherished deeply. He relished every opportunity to care for and spend time with his grandchildren. He generously shared his time, knowledge, and skills, teaching them valuable lessons about life and craftsmanship. Paul’s unwavering love and support for his family were a testament to his rare and traditional character. He gave selflessly, never expecting anything in return, and his presence was a constant source of warmth and comfort.
Beyond his family and his craft, Paul had a passion for exploration. He and Lynda embarked on countless adventures around the world, meticulously planning each trip to ensure an unforgettable experience. Their travels were a testament to their shared spirit of adventure and their deep bond as a couple.
