Paul Lewis Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Paul Allen Lewis, 85 years, of Middle Lake, SK, and formerly of Lake Lenore, SK, on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at Bethany Pioneer Village, Middle Lake.
Paul was born on March 4, 1940, the first child of Paul and Ruth (Dobson) Lewis. Born and raised in Moncton, NB, he completed his schooling along with helping his parents and younger brother. Later on, he went to attend Forestry School, which was an accomplishment he was proud of. While in New Brunswick, he met Carol Nickerson and they were wed on July 24, 1962. Together they raised four children, Donna, Christine, Paul Jr., and Nona, on their large dairy farm. Around 1974, the family decided to make the move to Lake Lenore, SK, where Paul started working for the Department of Highways, as well as helping out on local farms. He also owned and operated an arcade in Humboldt, which became quite the hot spot with their video games and pinball machines. Eventually opening an arcade in other locations in Saskatchewan as well. He enjoyed all the excitement of those times and always had a smile on his face, and later became nicknamed “Smiley.” After 24 years together, Paul and Carol decided to go their own ways and Carol moved to Nova Scotia. Eventually, Paul met Marion Bruce and they were wed from 1989 to 1992.
All of his life, Paul was an avid gun collector and restorer. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing with his son-in-law and grandchildren, going for drives (especially if he could use the whole road), and visiting with family and friends. If Greek ribs were on the menu for supper, you knew he would make the journey to enjoy them with you. He also loved tending to his garden and flowers in his retirement. As his health started to decline, he made the move to Humboldt where he resided at the Elizabeth for awhile, and eventually to Bethany Pioneer Village in December of 2023 until his passing.
Paul will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his four children and their families: Donna Lewis; Christine Rhodes and children Allen, Theodore, Chelsea, and Katheleen; Paul (Crystal) Lewis Jr. and children Brett, Taylor, and Cole; and Nona Lewis and children Janelle, Chance, and Nevaeh; as well as 9 grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Diane Lewis, two nephews, and their families. Paul was predeceased by his parents Paul and Ruth Lewis, son-in-law Greg Rhodes, grandson Ryan Lewis, and his brother Bryant Lewis.
A Funeral Service for Paul will be held at a later date. Memorial donations in memory of Paul may be directed to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
