With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, wife, and grandmother, Patricia Musty who left us peacefully with family by her side. She was a remarkable woman whose love, strength, and perseverance touched the lives of everyone who knew her. A devoted mother to five children and the most loving grandmother to two grandchildren, she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Patricia was a trailblazer in advocating for women’s rights in the workplace. As a pioneer in the fight against ual harassment, she stood courageously on the steps of the Ontario Labour Relations Board in Toronto, ensuring women everywhere had the right to work without fear of harassment. Her work in this area was a testament to her unwavering commitment to justice and equality.
A passionate student and advocate of natural medicine, she obtained her Doctor of Natural Medicine degree and opened her own practice in London, where she spent many years helping others find balance and healing. In honour and recognition of her work in natural medicine, Patricia was Knighted as a Dame in The Knights Hospitaller at a ceremony in New York City. This was a prestigious honour, reflecting the respect and admiration she earned for her contributions to the field of natural medicine.
Later in life, she ventured into entrepreneurship, creating beautiful hooded bath towels and sharing her handmade creations at the western fair market. When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, she turned her skills and heart towards making masks and scrub caps for nurses and anyone in need, showing her selfless devotion to others.
In her final years, despite her illness, she found joy in making custom clothes for her children and grandchildren, leaving behind a legacy of love and creativity. She cherished her time spent with her loving husband and grandchildren, often having sleepovers filled with laughter, fun, and many pillow fights.
Though we will forever feel the void her passing has left, we take comfort knowing she is no longer in pain. We find peace in the thought that she is now reunited with her mother, whom she often spoke of and remembered fondly.
Patricia will always be in our hearts. She was an extraordinary woman, and her legacy of love, strength, and kindness will continue to inspire us every day. We love you, and we will miss you always.
