It is with broken hearts that we mourn the passing of our family’s Matriarch, Patricia (Pat) June Sinclair of Dorset, Ontario on Sunday, February 23rd, 2025, in her 93rd year.
In sadness of loss, peace can still be found in knowing she has returned to the loving arms of her beloved husband Bruce, her parents George and Evelyn Pember, siblings Earl (Theresa) and Rose (Frank) brother-in-law John (Verna), sister-in-law Isabelle (Ray) and sister-in-law Lorriane (Harry).
Pat will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Georgina Sinclair, her three grandchildren Trish (James), Joseph (Dana), Melissa (Jamie) and her six great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Jade, Calvin, Gracey, Mariah and Lily. Pat will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family that she opened her home and heart to, many of whom lovingly referred to her as Nana.
Pat was born June 30th, 1932 in Toronto, Ontario. She attended school in both Canada and the United States, and later settled in Toronto, where she began her work at Facelle Royale for 25 years. During this time she met the love of her life, Bruce. She would often tell the story of how she saw him passing by in a boat in Burks Falls, and not even knowing his name, she said “That’s the man for me”. Pat snagged Bruce and they were married for 58 years and raised their daughter Georgina. In 1973 they made the move to Everett where retired life began for Pat on the hobby farm. In 1997 Bruce “finally” retired (as Pat would say) and they moved to the cottage on Loon Bay to begin their next adventure. Pat would always say that she was living the dream in her permanent paradise. Pat had a love for baking, was an avid crocheter, coffee drinker, card player, gardener and may have gone to bingo a time or two. Pat was also a member of the Dorset Senior Center and active in her community. Pat adored her animals, specifically her dog Shayna who she would refer to as the “rotten dog” when she would sneak people food and extra treats from John, yet Pat would still give her her all the lovin. In the summer, Pat would be seen waving to her neighbors from her boat, on her four-wheeler in the fall, and winters were spent on her skidoo. Thunder storms were spent hiding under blankets with her grandchildren, keeping them safe with stories of how angels were bowling to create the rolling thunder above. Pat’s love of family was well known and visits were cherished by her.
Pat had a fierce yet gentle soul, a force to be reckoned with, and will forever be missed by all who had the honour of knowing her. Her life was well lived and she leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. Pat truly was a Gem.
