It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Patricia “Pat” Catleugh after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of George, the love of her life and her steadfast partner in all things. Through every challenge, George cared for her with unwavering devotion.
Pat was a devoted mother to Laura-Lee (Manuel) and Melanie and the proudest “Grammie” to Ella, who brought her endless joy.
Born in Toronto, Pat began her career in nursing, working at Sunnybrook Hospital in the Veterans’ Wing as well as the cancer centre. After earning her degree in Sociology, she served as Director of Volunteers at William Osler Health System and St. Joseph’s Healthcare in Hamilton.
Pat cherished her time at the cottage in Muskoka, where she loved kayaking to Lily Bay, completing her daily crossword, and spending time with her beloved pup, Ollie. She had a passion for board games, knitting and quilting, and her butter tarts were a staple at holiday dinners.
Pat had an incredible way of making people feel at ease, turning every chat into a meaningful connection. She will be deeply missed by her aunts, many cousins, friends, and neighbours. We will forever treasure our summers at the cottage and the countless memories shared.
A celebration of Pat’s life will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to the Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation (www.jbhfoundation.ca), where she received such excellent care.
