It is with great sadness that the family of Ovila LeBlanc
announces his passing on Sunday March 9th, 2025, at the age of 90.
Surrounded by the love of his family, he passed away peacefully at
Hospice Albert House, Moncton. Born in Cap-Pelé, he was the
son of the late Edmund and Lumina (Richard) LeBlanc.
Ovila is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years Anita
(Cormier); three daughters: Pauline Brun (Edgar), Dianne
Léger (Éric), Janet LeBlanc (Allard), all of
Trois-Ruisseaux and one son Gilles (Bernice) of Dieppe; nine
grandchildren: Nadine, Mathieu, Christian, Nathalie, Caroline,
Mylène, Madeleine, Sebastien, and Samuel; and thirteen
great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sisters: Délia Leger,
Marie-Mai Jacob, Andréa LeBlanc; his brothers: Albert
(Georgette), Cloris; his sister-in-law Annette LeBlanc, as well as
many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Ovila was predeceased by his sisters:
Anne-Alice Leger, Corinne Landry, Léonie Leger, Therese
Bourque, Albertine Léger; his brothers: Laurie, Emile and
Réginald; his half-sisters: Rhéa LeBlanc, Marie
McLachlan, Yvrette LeBlanc; his half-brothers: Emery, Louis, and
Raymond.
Ovila was a devoted husband and father and a cherished
grandfather and great-grandfather who adored spending time with the
little ones. He had a long career as a carpenter and was
always ready to lend a helping hand whether it’d be to help
with construction or renovation projects. He loved being surrounded by
nature and spending time gardening always maintaining beautifully
landscaped yards wherever he lived. He was an avid reader
and very passionate about history taking pleasure in recounting
stories of the past. He was an artist and musician, enjoyed his 4
o’clock beer and appreciated a good joke. He was a sensitive
soul devoted to his God and known as a sweet, good-natured man who
will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to
the compassionate staff and volunteers at Maison Albert House for the
kind and attentive care provided to Ovila during the last month of his
illness.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and
Cremation Centre, 2642 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé (506-577-3297)
on Thursday March 13 from 9 am to 10:45 am. The funeral service will
be celebrated at
Sainte-Thérèse-d’Avila R.C. Church,
2648 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé on Thursday March 13 at 11 am.
Ovila’s final resting place will be at Frenette Funeral
Centre Columbarium in Cap-Pelé.
In Ovila’s memory, in lieu of flowers, a donation
to Hospice SENB (Albert House) or to Leisure Services at the Villa
Providence would be greatly appreciated.
