Oran Farquharson Obituary
Passed away peacefully at Brightshores Health System – Owen Sound on Saturday, January 11, 2025. Born in Annan on February 14, 1931, Oran Claire Farquharson of Owen Sound, was in his 94th year.
Beloved husband of the late Kathleen “Kay” Farquharson (nee Morrow). Loving father of Julie Duncan (Terry) of Sauble Beach, Steve Farquharson (Donna) of Guelph and Brian Farquharson (Kim) of Owen Sound. Cherished grandpa of Lynsey (James), Jodi (Eathan), Jordyn, Sara, Wyatt, Kennydi and Tyson. Proud great grandpa of Henley. Dear brother of Muriel Hope and twin of Orma Rossel. Oran will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, friends and Chewy.
Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Ethel Farquharson, siblings Les Farquharson (Lillian), Genevieve Rollo (Sandy), Louella Bumstead, Iola Lee (John), and Russell Farquharson (Margaret). Also predeceased by his parents in law William and Margaret Morrow, and by his brothers in law Len Hope, Val Rossel, and Robert Morrow (Betty).
Oran’s family would like to thank all the staff and doctors in the 6-1, 8-1, Respiratory and Emergency Departments at Brightshores Health System – Owen Sound. The family are also eternally grateful to the staff at Kelso Villa for their amazing care of Dad.
In keeping with Oran’s wishes, cremation is taking place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. A private interment will take place in Annan Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492.
