Norma Elaine Lowe Obituary
Norma passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 24, 2025, at the age of 80. She was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Gerry, as well as her parents, Norman and Angie, and her sisters, Josie and Florence. Norma left behind her children, Terry (Leslie), Gena (Shane), and Jodi (Larry), as well as her grandchildren, Matt, Cole, Jaden, Logan, and Lauren.
Norma began her professional journey at the age of 18 as a secretary at Trans Canada Credit, where she retired as the branch manager in the mid-80s. Never one to sit still, she embarked on a second career as a preboard screening agent at Penticton Airport, where she worked until her second retirement in 2017. Norma found joy in her home, her garden, her puppies, and above all, her family. She was a devoted babysitter to her grandchildren, and her homemade peanut butter cookies and shortbread will forever be missed.
Known for her quick wit, infectious laughter, and knack for creative nicknames, Norma had a unique way of brightening every room she entered. Her middle finger, often reserved for those she loved most, was a gesture filled with humor and affection. In her later years, Norma became a cherished resident of Cottage 2 at the Village by the Station. There, her mischievous humor, colorful language, and radiant smile left an indelible impression on the very special ladies around her. Her family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Complex Care unit and the wonderful caregivers at Cottage 2 for their kindness and compassion.
A service to celebrate Norma’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to your local SPCA in her honor. She will live on in the laughter and tales of those who knew and loved her.
