With great sadness, we
announce the passing of our beloved mother Noreen Lee MacFarlane of
Riverview, who died peacefully at home on February 7th surrounded by
her children.
Noreen was a beautiful
person with a kind and gentle heart that deeply touched those she
loved. A devoted mother, she was always there for us, honest,
trustworthy, never judging, never diminishing. Not once did we doubt
her love. The best mom a child could hope for. To her grandchildren,
Noreen was also a source of great joy and kindness, “a 365 Mrs.
Claus and a country singer forever!”
Daughter of the late
Winston and Eleanor Johnson, Noreen grew up on Steeves Mountain beside
the old Baptist church, later moving to Moncton to start a career that
included 34 years of public service with the Department of
Transportation.
Noreen walked gently
through life but could dance up a storm: clogging,
boot-scootin’–you name it– she burned up the country dance
floor and eventually formed the dance club Country Connection to teach
and share her love of dance with others. After retirement, Noreen
traveled extensively to many parts of the world, and thanks to the
efforts of her genealogical sleuthing she bestowed to her family the
wonderful gift of a family tree brought to life. As she aged,
Noreen’s explorations were closer to home but no less
fulfilling. She enjoyed walks around the neighbourhood or in the park,
a drive in the car with good country music. And of course
there were her beloved cats, Coronation Street and a cup of tea with
the morning paper….
She will be missed and
remembered by her son Mark MacFarlane, daughter Leanne (Angus Isenor)
MacFarlane, grandchildren Aidan, and Colin Isenor, and brother
Don.
To those who helped
the family in time of need, we’re forever grateful. A
heartfelt thank you.
The family will be
receiving relatives and friends at Cobb’s Funeral Home, 330
Whitepine Rd. Riverview (506-869-2007) on Saturday, February 15, 2025
from 1:00pm to 3:00pm with a service the following day Sunday at
2:00pm at Cobb’s Funeral Home.
Donations in
Noreen’s memory may be made to People for Animal Wellbeing
(formerly SPCA), or to a charity of the donor’s
choice.
