Noreen Alice Hallett Obituary
Noreen was born in Wainwright to Norman and Lizzie Pickard, September 28, 1937. She grew up on the family farm at Edgerton. She married Frank Hallett in November 1956 and on March 20, 1961 they welcomed Kenneth. In 1964 they adopted Gilbert and Agnes.
Noreen always took the time to teach the kids and to show them how to do things. She was a kind hard working mom, who gave her all to ensure her kids had what they needed to succeed in life. The kids learned about hard work but they also learned to have some fun like dancing, playing cards, riding horses, laughing and how to be a strong independent person.
She loved being a part of the Edgerton community and her neighbourhood. She always loved a visit or would give a helping hand whenever needed. As the neighbourhood families grew she loved to see them and would enjoy a visit with all the kids.
Noreen loved the farm life and the animals, but the horses were her love. She just had a special bond with each one. She loved riding and competing in gymkhanas. Later her and Frank took up pony chariot and chuckwagon racing, and enjoyed meeting all the people, whom they became lifelong friends with.
Her Grandkids and Great Grandkids had a special place in her heart. She enjoyed doing things with them no matter what that entailed. She always had time to listen, to play, or to give advise. You could always count on some Hawkins Cheezies at Grandmas house.
On Tuesday, February 26, 2025 Mrs. Noreen Hallett passed away at the Wainwright Health Centre at the age of 87 years. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Noreen is survived by her children, Kenneth Hallett of Wainwright, Agnes (Murray) Hogg of Edgerton, and Gilbert Hallett of Edmonton; two grandchildren, Jolene (Blake) Seib of Sherwood Park and Cody (Lindsay) Hogg of Calgary; four great grandchildren, Leah Seib, Kenzie, Seib, Brady, Hogg, and Lucas Hogg; one cousin, Raymond (Phyllis) Pickard of Kitscoty; one sister-in-law, Ruth Dufva of Eckville.
Noreen is predeceased by her husband, Frank in 2009; parents, Norman and Lizzie Pickard; cousin, Colleen Neilson; and brothers and sisters-in-law; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Funeral service for Noreen will be conducted on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 2:00 PM from the Edgerton Agricultural Hall, Edgerton, Alberta. If so desired memorial contributions may be made to: Edgerton & District Historical Society or Wainwright Continuous Care Auxiliary.
