Noel Merton Chesher, born on March 8, 1941, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family in hospital on January 16, 2025. He lived a rich and fulfilling life, dedicating many years to his family, his successful business and his many passions.
He is predeceased by his parents Merton & Gloria (Hap) Chesher and his sister Carol Slade. He was the loving husband of Kathy for 43 years and the cherished father of Jeff Chesher (Sheila), Jennifer Chesher, Julie Davis (John) and stepdaughters Melanie Hendren (Dennis) and Colleen Massey (Rick). He will be especially missed by his grandchildren Jeffrey, Olivia, Spencer, Hillary, Mitchell & Kaylee and great granddaughters Bria & Addyson. He will be fondly remembered by his cousins and many friends.
Noel was a well-known resident of Buckhorn for many years. He founded Buckhorn Sand & Gravel in 1963 and truly enjoyed working in the business even after his son Jeff took over the reins in 2001 and long past retirement age. He was especially proud of how the business he started so long ago has continued to flourish.
Noel enjoyed travelling in the custom-built motor homes that he and Kathy designed & built. He always looked forward to spending winters in the Arizona desert where he loved to explore the many ATV trails. He loved to tell friends & family about his travels and had many adventurous tales to tell.
Noel will be remembered for his love of family, his passion for life and his unwavering spirit. His contributions to both his family and his community will be missed by all who knew him.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses in the palliative care unit at PRHC. They truly made his stay there as pleasant as possible and helped make his last hours comfortable.
