Nicole Audette (Van Zutphen)
1985 – 2025
Nicole Audette (Van Zutphen), age 39, passed away unexpectedly on March 12, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and cherished memories. Born in 1985, Nicole lived a vibrant life filled with adventure, family, and friendship.
Nicky was the beloved wife of Jonathan Audette, with whom she shared a deep and enduring loving partnership. Together, they were raising two beautiful children, Harper, age 6, and Henry, age 3, who were the light of her life. She was a devoted mother, always nurturing and encouraging her children with boundless affection.
She was the cherished daughter of Martin and Truus Van Zutphen, who instilled in her a strong sense of family and tradition. Nicole was also a loving sister to Eric and Jessica, sharing a close bond with them throughout her life. Her four nephews—Oliver, Owen, Charles, and Liam— will miss their Aunt dearly.
Nicole had a passion for travel, exploring new places and cultures whenever she could. Her favorite moments, however, were spent creating lasting memories with her family whether that was board games, hikes, making cookies, spending time at the cottage, egg hunts, or family vacations.
Nicole was a devoted Communications Officer at the Township of Springwater, where she formed many strong friendships throughout the years.
Nicole’s sudden departure has left a void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her spirit will live on through the love she shared and the lives she touched. She will be deeply missed.
Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Monday, March 17 from 7 – 9 PM and on Tuesday, March 18 from 11 AM until the time of service in the Chapel at 12 PM. Family and friends are invited to remain for a reception luncheon in the lounge.
If desired, donations in Nicole’s memory may be made to the Season’s Centre for Grieving Children and are greatly appreciated by the family.
