In loving memory of Neda Zega (Bellini) who passed on Thursday, March 27th, 2025 at Extendicare York at the age of 97.
She was the daughter of Julia and Rudolfo Bellini both predeceased. Beloved wife of Alberto Zega predeceased. Loving and devoted mother to Linda (Nick), Carol (Brian), and Lori (Felix). Proud and loving Nonna to Christian (Jenn), Mauro (Sarah), Chiara (PJ), and Sydney and Bisnonna to Amelia, Cristina, and Lorenzo. She’s a dear sister of Rose Bellini predeceased, Bruno Bellini predeceased (Gina), Lena Bellini predeceased, and Bruno Bellini.
Neda came to Canada as a toddler with her parents from Italy and settled in Timmins. She grew up with her family, aunts and uncles and cousins on a dairy farm. She liked to care for the farm animals and enjoyed attending to her house plants and outdoor gardens. She also enjoyed reading, baking, knitting, crocheting and loved her pet cats. She attended mass regularly and her favourite Saint was St. Anthony. She married Alberto in 1957 and they moved to Sudbury. Alberto found work at Inco and her condition on the house was that there was no rock in the backyard. She and Alberto raised their beautiful family there and was happiest when surrounded by them.
Resting at the Lougheed Funeral Home, 252 Regent Street at Hazel Street, Sudbury where friends may call from 3-6pm Sunday. Parish prayers will be held at 3pm Sunday. Funeral mass at Our Lady of Hope Church, 591 Brennan Rd., Sudbury on Monday, March 31st, 2025 at 10:30am. Entombment in the Civic Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society (Sudbury Chapter) or the Maison McCulloch Hospice.
