Obituary of Nancy Lynn Lawson
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nancy Lynn Lawson (Sharpe) on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 in Fort St. John, BC.
Born and raised in Burks Falls, Ontario, Nancy then spent years moving around Ontario when her husband was transferred for work. They relocated to Fort St. John in 1993 and found their forever home. Early in their retirement, winters were spent in Yuma, AZ and summers were enjoyed in Fort St. John camping, fishing and enjoying the outdoors.
Nancy leaves behind her children James (Suzanne), Laura Jane and Jason (Deanne); and four grandchildren Jordan, Jarrett, Justin and Ashley. She was predeceased by her husband David and brother Bruce and will be missed by brother Larry (Judy), sisters Donna (Miles) and Diane (Brad) and sister-in-law, Gail and their families.
Nancy’s life was one of service. As a wife, mother and grandmother, Nancy was always there with love and support. She was so proud of her family and her grandchildren were the centre of her life. Anyone who knew Nancy was always hearing about their accomplishments.
It didn’t stop there. Nancy was an active member of the Fort St. John Hospital Auxiliary and was disappointed when she could no longer work her regular shift at the Hospital Gift Shop. She loved participating in and leading services at St. Luke’s United Church. Nancy was always using her crafting talents to make and donate quilts, hats, and anything she heard there was a need for.
A service will be held at St Lukes United Church at 2:00pm on Thursday January 23, 2025, followed by a tea at the North Peace Cultural Center from 3:00pm – 5:00pm

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation, for the Cancer Diagnostic and Treatment Fund, or a charity of your choice. The staff at the Cancer Clinic at the Fort St. John Hospital provided much comfort to Nancy during both of her battles with cancer.
“You are the light of the world. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16
